      Frequently Asked Questions
You will find answers to your most common Electrical Services related questions below. Please reach out if you have further questions.
Can you complete work on the same day a quote is approved?
For small projects, we often hold reoccurring items in our road van. In these circumstances, yes, this is possible.
      Are my power-lines Ok?
If you notice any of these common defects you will need to organise repairs by an authorised Level 2 electrician. Common defects are; wires that are touching, slack wires that hang loosely, rotting, rusting, leaning poles, frayed wires, damaged pole fittings and damaged poles (eg. termite damage).
What is the process working with SVP Electrical Services?
Step 1: first point of contact to gather information.

Step 2: if required, an on-site photo inspection to discuss scope of works. If the project is minor, a video meeting could be preferred by the customer.

Step 3: a specific quote is to be provided following agreed scope of works.

Step 4: following approval of the quote, we will be in contact to arrange a suitable time to commence works. At this time, a 10% deposit is required to order required materials.

Step 5: during the project, we will keep you updated with the progress. If any unforeseen situations were to arise we will provide you with our recommended solution

Step 6: following completion of the project, we will leave the space in a tidy manner and check that all items are in working order.
Can I supply my own materials?
We are in a position to install materials which you have purchased. Unfortunately, we cannot take responsibility for incorrect items provided, warranty, reliability or delivery on items privately purchased.

What is a Level 2 (ASP) Electrician?
Level 2 ASP electricians can provide services on repairs, installation and maintenance on overhead/underground electrical services that run from private land to the electrical network (ie. AusGrid or Endeavour Energy).
Why have I received an electrical defect notice?
A defect notice is provided following a routine inspection by your network supplier. It means that your electrical installation does not comply with safety standards. Common causes are due to; incorrect or faulty wiring, additions or alterations to connections or vegetation disruptions.

You are encouraged to send a copy of your notice to a qualified Accredited Service Provider (ASP) who can provide instructions on the next step.

Once you have received the notice, the property Owner has 21 days to solve the issue. Extensions can be sought, however, after 21 days, you could be in a position where your network supply disconnects your electricity.

As authorised Level 2 ASP workers, we welcome your call for any further questions.
